A new family of anionic polymeric surfactants were developed recently based on the original work of Elraies and Tan (2012).This polymeric surfactant, PMES (poly (methyl ester sulfonate)), is a semibio based synthetic product created by the combination of a biosurfactant and acrylamide monomer using the traditional free radical polymerization method.
